I chose to support this organisation for following reasons:
A: ‘Trees for the future’ plants trees in an integral way in the rural areas of the Sub-Sahara, where my mother grew up and where also I lived for a few years with my family. This on its own is important work to save fertile soil from becoming desert.
B: This organisation's work intends to empower rural communities, instead of making them dependant of their support, like the majority of charity organisations unfortunately do.
C: How they empower the communities is by supporting nature and making the communities become mentors of this work. Nature and abundance are deeply connected. If you support, learn and connect with nature, not only can you not be poor, you can sustain yourself and nurture your community.

I decided to support this beautiful project, because it personally resonated with me so much.
The founder of this company, Mr. Mully had all reasons not to start this organisation. He was poor from childhood on, left by his family to become a beggar, to roam the streets alone for years, hopeless. When he regained faith in himself and the world, his path lead him to become one the richest people of Kenya.
Like if that wasn’t enough, despite the protest of his peers, he remembered where he came from and gave it all up to support children just like him when he was a child. ‘Daddy Mully’ basically takes children from the streets of Kenya and brings them into his family home. Reintegrating them to have a chance in life and become positive influences for the community just like he does for his own children.
